Launched in 2015 as a design resource for designers, artisans, stylists, manufacturers decorators, markers and makers, Color Stories is an emerging go-to hub for creatives and producers who crave new and unique color directions for their creative projects, and they love to talk about color.

What do we believe?

  • We believe that every color palette has a story behind it – told in mood, history, scenes and tones.
  • It’s ok to be truly, madly obsessed with color and talking about it is a-ok!
  • The power of color in every application — whether in personal creative artwork or in commercial product development.
  • Color can influence, transform, make an impact and support emotions and thinking.

So, who’s behind all of this #colortalk?

Smitten by all colors around her at a very young age, Cathe Huynh-Sison has always been drawn to spotting unusual color palettes and the scientific side of colors. As a design student, instead of a journal where one would keep written daily record, she kept a color journal. What is a color journal? It began as a reference collection of color chips and photographs pasted to loose paper sheet that evolved to a wire-o bound book of blank black pages filled with Pantone color chips in various palettes and clippings of inspiring colorful photos & artwork. As a designer and branding consultant, color played a strong role in Cathe’s client projects — from brand development and marketing collateral & product packaging — and in the development of her own licensed designs for other manufacturers and product lines for Feterie, her lifestyle brand.

Born out of her weekly posts on Papercuts featured inspiring color palettes, Color Stories™ is a design resource curated with a keen eye toward color as a key ingredient in design and product development and explores the scientific side of color theory.
